Donald Richard Erwin
Donald “Buk” Richard Erwin, 59, of Cape Coral, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, in Fort Myers. He was born Jan. 16, 1950, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was a POW survivor. He received the Purple Heart and was a highly decorated, retired disabled veteran.
He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Lee County.
Moving to Cape Coral 34 years ago from Ohio, he enjoyed retirement and woodcrafting. He was a member of the American Legion Post 90 and VFW.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret “Peggy;” stepchildren, Baxter (Teresa) Stickle and Gregory (Jennifer) Stickle; stepgrandchildren, Karalyn, Ryan, Lauren and Kalyssa; sisters, Donna and Deborah; and brothers, Dave, Dan and Jim.
Flowers are appreciated. Memorial gifts may be made to the Disable American Veterans in his memory.
Shared memories will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fuller Funeral Home, 3740 Del Prado Blvd. S. The family will receive friends from 1- 2 p.m.
