Anthony Corti
Anthony Corti, 75, of Cape Coral, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at Cape Coral Hospital. He was born July 22, 1934, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a son of Silverio and Josephine Ferrera Corti, now deceased.
He retired in 1981 from the New York City Transit Police Force after 20 years of faithful service. Upon coming to Cape Coral, he was employed for 18 years as a bus driver with the Lee County School District.
He was a communicant of St. Andrew Catholic Church. He was also an umpire with the Roy Hobbs Wood Bat Baseball Tournament.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Salerno.
He is survived by his wife, Mary C. Corti of Cape Coral; children, Kevin M. Brown, Josephine Hinks, Mark Brown and James Brown; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Campo.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today in the chapel of Coral Ridge Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
