Daniel Sweeney
Daniel Sweeney, 73, of Cape Coral, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral after a short illness. He was born June 16, 1935, in New York, N.Y., the son of Helen and John Sweeney.
He was a retired painter and was a resident of Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Cape Coral in 1986. He was a sweet man who enjoyed movies, painting and water sports.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; daughter, Sheila Sweeney of Cape Coral, and children, Mary Ellen and Sean Sweeney of Staten Island, N.Y.; son, Daniel Sweeney of Apex, N.C.; six grandchildren; three stepchildren; sisters, Betty Susalis of Staten Island, N.Y., and Nora Wasnewski of New Jersey; and brothers, Tom and Mike of Florida and Chris of Tennessee.
A private service was held at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral.
