Donald E. Harris
Donald E. Harris, 78, of Cape Coral died unexpectedly Saturday August 8, 2009 at lee Memorial Hospital.
Don was born September 13, 1930 in Woburn, MA to Harold and Delia (nee Hogan)Harris. He served his country honorably during the Korean War where he was the recipient of the Purple Heart Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge. Following 42 year of service at Boston Edison he retired to Falmouth, MA. He moved to Cape Coral in 2004.
Don was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, VFW Post # 8463, American Legion Post # 90, Lifetime member of Elks Lodge # 908 in Woburn, Lifetime member of the D.A.V., Moose Lodge # 2395 and Eagles Aerie # 3957.
Family members include his wife of 53 years, Mabel, four children; Glenn of Hampton Beach, NH, Dennis of Woburn, MA, Robert and Donna Blake of Cape Coral, four grandchildren; Glenn Jr., Kelee, Scott, and Cassidy and two great grandchildren Joshua and Mariella.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday August 12, 2009 at the Metz Funeral Chapel, 1306 Lafayette St. Cape Coral, Fl.
