James R. ‘Fergie’ Ferguson

James R. “Fergie” Ferguson, 75, of Cape Coral, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was born April 27, 1934, in Sullivan, Ind., the son of Thelma and Leland D. Ferguson.

He was the youngest of three brothers. Both of his brothers preceded him in death.

He graduated from Sullivan High School in 1952. On Feb. 2, 1956, he married Kristi A. Johnson of Sullivan, who was at his side when he passed. He moved his family to Florida in 1962 and made his living as a salesman in the lumber industry until his retirement.

His hobbies included playing golf, softball and watching baseball games. He and his wife relocated to Las Vegas last year.

He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Kristi; son, Bryan; daughters, Dawn Bowman, Katrina Huffmaster and Angie Henderson; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 22 at Metz Funeral Home, 1306 Lafayette St.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the National Parkinson Foundation or your local Hospice.
