Dr. Albertta V. David
Dr. Albertta V. David 70, of Cape Coral, passed away Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009.
She was an educator and department head in the nursing field for a number of years at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill., and at St. Joseph’s College in Joliet, Ill., before retiring to Florida for the past nine years.
She is survived by her son, Glenn “Skip” (Shawn) Haines Jr. of Cape Coral; daughter, Sandra (Lonnie) Griffin of southern Illinois; grandchildren, Amanda Griffin and Ashley Griffin of southern Illinois, Christopher Duchene of Kankakee, Jeremy Griffin of Michigan, Brandon Petkus of Florida and Jessica Petkus; and great-grandchild, Ariana Holder of Ohio.
She requested her body to be donated to a teaching school to further medical education, the family has abided by her wishes.
Donations can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or a charity/education facility of the donor’s choice.
