Patrick David Cleland

Patrick David Cleland, 65, a well-known local artist of Lehigh Acres, formerly of Cape Coral and Indianapolis, Ind., passed away Friday, June 12, 2009. He was born Sept. 19, 1943, in Murphysboro, Ill., to Homer Waldo (Jim) and Frances Louise Cleland.

While a resident of Indianapolis, he owned Broad Ripple Dental Lab. He later turned his passion and hobby as a graphic artist and custom pinstriper into a full-time profession in Florida. His work earned several awards and was featured in numerous magazines.

He leaves behind his best friend and loving wife, Linda (French) Cleland; daughters, Michele (Gary) Lents and Melissa (Butch) Stanifer; sons, David (April) and Jason (Gracie); stepdaughter, Michelle (Nelsen) Judge; 11 grandchildren; mother, Frances Cleland Ugalde; and uncle, Richard DeWitt.

He was preceded in death by his father; and brother, Mike.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 215 Richmond Ave., Lehigh Acres.
