Eleanor Saladino
Eleanor Saladino, 71, of Cape Coral, left this life Monday, May 11, 2009, to join her loving husband, Vincent. She was born Jan. 20, 1938, in New York to Dominick and Margaret Caronna.
She moved to Cape Coral in 1967 from Brooklyn, N.Y. She owned and operated her own hair salon in Fort Myers many years ago. Following her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Her family includes her children, George Saladino, Joanne (Warren) Howell and Dominick Saladino, all of Cape Coral; sisters, Lena DiGerolomo of Newport Richey, Fla., and Frances Caronna of Lehigh Acres; and grandchildren, Michael and Danielle.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Rita and Jean.
The family will receive friends for viewing from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Metz Chapel of Harvey-Engelhardt-Metz Funeral Homes and Crematory. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
