Joseph Robert Waring, 59, of Cape Coral died May 3, 2009, at his home.

He was born on Oct. 30, 1949, in Philadelphia, a child of Joseph Reinhold and Marjorie Betty (Turner) Waring.

A local resident for the past 30 years, he graduated in 1967 in Palmyra High School, N.J., and received his associates degree from Camden Community College.

He was a salesman for Keebler, Walcrafters and AFLAC Insurance and was the current president of Dog Obedience Club of Lee County, Fort Myers, where he has been a long-time member. He was a member of the Cape Coral First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda (Lunger) Waring; his daughters, Lisa Waring and Sandra (Ashunte) Sanders of Cape Coral; his grandchildren, Alex and Piper; his mother, Marjorie Betty of Cape Coral; and his sister, Jacqueline (Robert) Waring of Fort Myers.

His father, Joseph Rheinhold Waring, died in 1994.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 9, at noon at Cape Coral First United Methodist Church, 4118 Coronado Parkway, Cape Coral.
