Waldo K. Bowman

Waldo K. Bowman, 87, of Cape Coral died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at home with family in attendance. He was born in Auburn, Ind., in 1921 to Herman and Nellie Bowman. He served his country honorably during World War II.

He married Louise Galasso in 1946. He lived in South Plainfield, N.J., where he owned and operated Lakeside Tavern.

In 1975, he moved to Cape Coral. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 8463, Cape Coral Italian American Club, Elks Lodge # 2596, Eagles Aerie # 3957 and American Legion Post # 90.

His family includes his children, Susie (Mickey) Saverd of Cape Coral, Steve (Jackie Turner) Bowman of Fort Myers and Patti (Rich) Lovette of Lake Mary, Fla.; three sisters, Alice Stockton of Colorado, Marie Roop of Michigan and June Ellis of Texas; six grandchildren, Kali, Amy, Kyan, Che, Preston and Shelby; and two great-grandchildren, Zoie and Skyla.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the Metz Chapel of Harvey-Engelhardt-Metz Funeral Homes and Crematory, Cape Coral.
