Thomas T. Haun Sr.
Thomas T. Haun Sr., 67, of Cape Coral, died Thursday, April 9, 2009, following an extended illness.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy for 24 years.
He retired as an HMC in Yorktown Va., in 1983. He was employed as an optician with Lens Crafters and Optical Outlets prior to retiring in 1995.
He is survived by his loving mother, Elizabeth Haun; wife of 44 years, Eileen; children, Thomas T. (Lisa) Haun Jr., Elizabeth (Dave) Sizemore, Kimberley (Rigo) Diaz and Cynthia (George) Engelhardt; former son-in-law, Freddy Campbell; brothers, Robert (Sharon) Haun, Lawrence (Lauren) Haun, Christopher (Leah) Haun and Matthew Haun; sister, Catherin (Greg) Knoff; grandchildren, Christina (Jason) Wess, Emily Campbell, Brittany Haun, Thomas Haun III, Austin Campbell, Nicholas Diaz, Isaac Diaz and Gracie Diaz; great-grandchildren, AnDrea Wess, Jayden Wess and Shyanne Haun; several nieces, nephews and friends; and best friend, Macey Mae.
He was preceded in death by his father, Zachery T. Haun, in 1976.
A memorial service will be held at noon Monday at Hope Hospice Chapel Cape Coral, 2430 Diplomat Parkway E.
A reception/military ceremony will be held from 2-4 p.m. at the VFW Post 8463 for family and friends following the memorial service.
Burial with honors will be held at a later date at Sarasota National Cemetery.
