Agnes (Aggie) Gnip Johnston
Agnes (Aggie) Gnip Johnston, 86, of Cape Coral, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009. She was born Oct. 26, 1922, in Leavenworth, Kan., to Michael and Julia Gnip. She was one of 11 children.
She moved with her husband to Cape Coral in 1966, after his retirement from the United States Army.
She is survived by her husband of more than 58 years, James R. Johnston.
She was the beloved mother of Jimmy Johnston of Cape Coral, David Johnston of Palm Harbor, Fla., Vicky Jordan of Alexandria, Va., and Danny Johnston; and beloved grandmother of Julia Foster, Claire Jordan and Adrina Johnston. She is also survived by her sister, Claire Rasmussen, and brother, Michael Gnip.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. today at Metz Funeral Chapel, 1306 Lafayette St. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed by interment at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
