Ayleen S. Hopkins
Ayleen S. Hopkins, 95, of Cape Coral died March 20, 2009. She was born August 22, 1913 in Richmond, VA to John and Ada Smith. She married William in 1936 and shared 68 years together prior to his death in 2004. Ayleen lived in Darien, CT for many years. During WW II she worked for the Red Cross rolling bandages and later was the Post Mistress for the Ryderwood, MD Post Office. While living in CT she worked for Bloomingdales in Stamford.
She was the wife of William B. Hopkins, President of the Home Oil Company of New Canaan, CT. She and her husband retired to Cape Coral in 1981. She was a member of the Cape Coral Cruise Club. Ayleen enjoyed painting, and other crafts.
Her family includes three children; William Hopkins of Punta Gorda, Donald Hopkins of PA, and Mary E. Kroll of Cape Coral, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
