John ‘Butch’ Baptiste III
John “Butch” Baptiste III, 63, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb 24, 2009, after a long struggle with cancer. He was born in Wareham, Mass.
He moved to Cape Coral in 1979. He was an active member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, and St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Anderson, S.C.
He was married for 35 years to Carola Baptiste, the father of Jessica (Sean) Walton and Amanda Baptiste and the grandfather of Christopher and Angela Walton.
He retired after 20 years working with the city of Cape Coral as an engineering inspector.
He had an amazing zest for life. His smiling face and brave determination will surely be missed by his loving family and many friends.
A memorial Mass to celebrate his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St Katharine Drexel Church.
