Anthony John Rocco

Anthony John Rocco, 88 years old passed away on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009. He was born in Camden, N.J., moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., where he met his wife Marie. They had 57 wonderful years of marriage. He serviced 2 years in the Civilian Conservation Corp. improving the environment.

During World War II he enlisted in the Army and was in active battle in central Europe, Rhineland and Ardennes for 3 years. He became a sergeant and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was a proprietor of his own business which was sales and service of fire extinguishers for 33 years. It is still being carried on by two of his sons.

He is survived by his 6 children, son, Robert (Maria) Rocco of Valley Cottage, N.Y., son, David (Susan) Rocco of Brooklyn, N.Y., son. Stephen (Ann Marie) Rocco of Brooklyn, N.Y., son, Anthony (Debra) Rocco of Jackson, N.J., son, Danny (Lisa) Rocco of Coltsneck, N.J.; daughter, Lori (Kevin) Jacobson of Fort Myers; 14 grandchildren; 12 nieces and nephews; and one brother, Paul Rocco of North Fort Myers.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, March 3, at the Brandywine Club room off Winkler Road, Fort Myers, at 11 a.m.
