Thomas Hauver

Thomas Hauver, 72, of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away suddenly Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, in Albuquerque, N.M., while en route to a short vacation in California. He was born April 15, 1936, in New York.

He recently organized a parade to honor Iraq veterans in Arkansas.

He proudly served the United States Air Force for 26 years, where he achieved the rank of master sergeant. He served in Vietnam and special projects, such as his proud involvement with the B-2 bomber.

He served our country in its endeavor to keep us all safe and secure our borders. He was stationed in such places as Japan, Korea, Alaska, Hawaii and more.

He retired to Arkansas after falling in love with the area on a vacation. He was a special, strong-willed, loving man. His arms encircled and embraced us all.

Survivors include his wife, Ester Hauver; sons and daughters-in-law, David (Christina) of Burbank, Calif., Thomas (Rita) of Sylmar, Calif., and Richard (Molly) of Minneapolis, Minn.; and grandchildren, Erik, Ryan, Heidi, Ellie, Joshua, Gavin, Seth and Elizabeth.

Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, Ark. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark., with Chaplain Jeremy Gorline officiating. Burial will be held in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark.
