Helen L. Gumble
Helen L. Gumble, 89, of Gulf Coast Village in Cape Coral, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009. She was born May 13, 1919, in Whitewater, Wis.
She graduated with a bachelor’s of education from Whitewater Teacher’s College. In 1942 she marred Edwin H.Gumble and spent the next three decades as an Air Force wife. The couple retired to Paupack, Pa., for many years and then moved to Cape Coral in 1975.
Twenty-eight years of volunteer service to Cape Coral High School and The Foundation of Gulf Coast Village were passions for her. She also was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Edwin; daughters, Harriet Mottaz (Harry) of Cape Coral and Barbara G. Nelson of Grand Canyon, Az; grandson, Kristofer (Jennifer); great-grandchildren, Landon and Madison of Navarre, Fla.; and grandson, Jeremy Mottaz of Orlando, Fla.
A celebration of her life will be held from 3-4 p.m. Feb. 27 at Gulf Coast Village. Friends of the family are welcome to join in the goodbye.
