Alan Douglas Pearson
Alan Douglas Pearson of Cape Coral, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 under the compassionate care of Hope Hospice at Cape Coral Hospice House. he was born in Chicago, Ill in the summer of 1942.
He moved with his parents Waldo and Irene Pearson sister Sue, brother Norman, and their dog Frisky by boat-Trident to Cape Coral in 1958. The Pearson family was one of the first families to live in Cape Coral.
He was an accomplished sailor, boat captain, pilot, mechanic, and an avid NASCAR fan. He was a local contractor and instructor. He worked for several years for Povia-Ballentine Corp., Carl Mathews School of Construction and retired from Kraft in 2007. He held various state contracting licenses.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lora Pearson; parents Waldo and Irene Pearson, and brother Waldo Jr. (Joan) Pearson.
Survivors include his daughter, Beth Marie Pearson of Cape Coral; Sue (Fred) Read of Dade City, Florida; Norman Pearson of Chicago, numerous nieces and nephews, and his dog Angel.
A memorial service will be held at Hope Hospice at 2430 Diplomat Parkway E. Cape Coral, at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26. Memorials, donations may be made to Hope Hospice.
