Joseph P. LaMonica
Joseph P. LaMonica, 82, of Cape Coral, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at Hope Hospice. He was born in 1926 in Philadelphia, to his parents John and Mary LaMonica.
He served his country honorably with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Lucille in 1955 in New Jersey and moved to Cape Coral in 1973 from Mantua, N.J.
He began a carpentry and trim work business that he operated until 1988. During his retirement he enjoyed fishing, taxidermy and his 1998 Cadillac.
He was a member of Southside Christian Church in Fort Myers.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lucille of Cape Coral; children, Ronald (Nola) LaMonica and Mary (Frank) Regnone of North Fort Myers, and Joseph R. LaMonica of Cape Coral; grandchildren, Mary, Michelle and Angel; and great-grandson, Kaden.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Southside Christian Church, 7800 College Parkway, Fort Myers.
