John (Jack) Dayton, Sr.
John (Jack) William Dayton, Sr., 65, of Bokeelia, FL passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2008 with his loving wife, Margo at his side. Hewas born on October 13, 1943 in Akron, OH to Richard Sickles Dayton, Sr.and Elizabeth Alice (Kennedy) Dayton and moved to Florida when he was just a baby. Jack served in the Army from 1961-64 and was with the 101stAirborne. He then joined the IBEW Local Union 16 in Evansville, IN and went through the apprenticeship program and became a Journeyman electrician.
He was an electrician for 43 years and retired in 2006. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret (Margo), 8 children, Bill & Ginger of Indianapolis, IN, Paul & Barb of Newburgh, IN, Peggy & Jim ofMarshall, IL, Melindia & Mike of West Terre Haute, IN, Robert & Kelly ofCape Coral, FL, Dawn & Mark of Terre Haute, IN, Susan & Tim of Evansville,IN and Michael & Salina of Maple Valley, WA, 3 brothers, Rick & Marlene ofCrystal River, FL, Larry & Laura of Pompano Beach, FL and Harry & Vann ofLittle Rock, AK, 3 sisters, Susan & Marty Elliott of Marion, NC, Deborah &Luke Lucarelli of Wilkes Barre, PA and Cathy & Rick Williams of NC, 22grandchildren, Chelsea, Kaitlyn, Bethany, Jeff, Julia, Scot, Allie, Katie,Michael, Mathew, Robert, Derrick, Tony, Josh, Robert, Briana, Tasha,Anthony, Ashley, Daniel, Abby, Amanda,1 great grandchild, Shannon andseveral nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by hisfather and mother.
Funeral service will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers thefamily suggest contributions be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
