Ronald F. Skantz
Ronald F. Skantz, 84, of North Fort Myers, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral. He was born Feb. 8, 1924 in Cheboyan, Mich., a child of Jud and Florence (Lamont) Skantz.
Before moving to North Fort Myers in 1988, he lived in Michigan and was employed for 35 years by Brunswick Bowling Company as a finisher and installer.
Locally, he and his wife, Corkey, worked for Grandma’s Child Care in Fort Myers for 12 years and attended Open Bible Church in North Fort Myers before joining First Church of God in Cape Coral.
He is survived by his wife, Corinne “Corky” Skantz; children, Lylah, Nancy, Darla, Ralph and Robert; stepsons, Richard and Todd Grgurich; brother, Larry; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Lois, in 1987; and his stepson, John Grgurich, in 2005.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at First Church of God, 2213 Country Club Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
