George F. Cook Sr.
George F. Cook Sr., 80, of Cape Coral, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008. He was born May 8, 1928, in Glens Falls, N.Y., to George and Loretta Buckley Cook, now deceased.
He received a B.S. in journalism from Fordham University and attended St. Mary’s Academy in Glens Falls, N.Y.
He served honorably during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Air Force as a captain and was later stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.
He retired in 1988 from the Eaton Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio, to Cape Coral. He was an active member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and was an avid boater in the Cape Coral area.
He was the beloved husband for 57 years of Marian D. Cook. He was the father of George F. Cook Jr., Thomas C. Cook and M. Deirdre Cook; grandfather of Christopher, Jennifer and Jacqueline; and cousin of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Buckley.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Burial will take place in Glens Falls, N.Y. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Fuller Cape Coral, 3740 Del Prado Blvd. S.
