Deborah Kay Davis

Deborah Kay Davis, 58, of Cape Coral, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at her home under the care of Hope Hospice. She was born Jan. 17, 1950, in LaPorte, Ind., a child of Ralph and Pearl (Bent) Watts.

She was a licensed cosmetologist and shop owner for more than 40 years. Her love and care of children to have families and parents to have children caused her to be the co-founder of two adoption agencies, both in the United States and internationally.

Always saying, “She is the lucky one and blessed one to have the children and not just the children lucky to have a family.”

She was also a licensed dental hygienist and a licensed interior decorator. Nothing was a cannot do but a can do or even a negative to what can be done. There was always the good in people that was there and seen by her. Never turning away, she tried to encourage and lift up someone who needed help and care.

She was a loving mother and wife who will be missed and thought of every day. God bless her on her journey in peace.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Donald Richard Davis Jr.; children, Ryan Patrick Davis, Michael Cory Davis, Hilary McKenzie Davis, Katlyn Ashley Carrie, Vannesa Heurta, Donald Richard Davis III and Michele Marie Howard; eight grandchildren; siblings, Darwin Watts of Battle Creek, Mich., and Ralph Watts of Lodi, Ind.; Rose Mead, not just a friend but a sister; the late Edwin Restetar; and sister-in-law, Arlene Restetar, who was more of a sister, and family.

Funeral services will be private for the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
