UPDATE:

The body of a boater who was missing following a deadly crash in the river near the Cape Coral Yacht Club Saturday was recovered Sunday afternoon with officials releasing the names of the three individuals who died as a result of the incident.

The missing boater has been identified as Craig Millett, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Communications Office said via email Sunday.

“Brenna Millett and Rebecca Knight were the two declared deceased at the hospital last night,” the email states. “The fourth person involved was Neal Kirby who is in critical but stable condition.”

The FWC investigation is continuing.

“We still don’t have a cause on the incident at this time but our investigators are working diligently to find that information out,” Public Information Officer Bradley Johnson stated.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Cape Coral Police Department, Cape Coral Fire Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and Lee County EMS all responded to the scene of the incident on the Caloosahatchee River and continued to assist with the recovery of the missing boater through Sunday.

One missing, one dead, two injured in boat crash in river near the Cape Coral Yacht Club

Officials continue to search for a missing boater following a crash in the river near the Cape Coral Yacht Club that resulted in at least one death on Saturday. The crash occurred at approximately 5 p.m., the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Cape Coral Police Department, Cape Coral Fire Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and Lee County EMS all responded to the scene of the incident on the Caloosahatchee River.

“Preliminary information indicates that a single vessel with four occupants onboard, was traveling on the river near the Cape Coral Yacht Club when an incident occurred. Three of the occupants of the vessel were transported to a nearby hospital where one of them was declared deceased as a result of the incident,” the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission stated in a press release.

“The fourth occupant of the vessel is missing and we are still searching for them at this time. That is all the information we can provide at this point. The FWC is the lead agency and we will provide updates when we are able to do so.”
