A Philadelphia man was given three life sentences after being convicted of three counts of robbery with a firearm, which included a slot machine arcade in Cape Coral.

Jwyanza Quadaar Chito, 38, was sentenced Thursday after a jury returned a guilty verdict following a three-day trial in Lee County.

According to the State Attorney’s Office, on May 17 of 2022, Chito went to a slot machine arcade in Cape Coral and held the clerk at gunpoint. SAO officials said he stole between $20,000 and $30,000 before fleeing to North Fort Myers.

“He went into another slot machine arcade and held the clerk there at gunpoint and stole about $1,000,” a release from the SAO stated. “On his way out, he held a patron at gunpoint and grabbed her purse.”

Chito was apprehended two months later, SAO officials stated, with the firearm and extended magazine that were used in all three robberies in his possession.

The Cape Coral Police Department and Lee County Sheriff’s Office investigated the cases.

Chito has an additional robbery case pending.

Assistant State Attorney Olivia Ferrell and Assistant State Attorney Frank Lazzaro prosecuted the case.
