Giallombardo re-elected in District 79
Republican Michael Giallombardo has won his third term in the Florida State House after cruising to a landslide victory Tuesday in the District 79 race.
Giallombardo, who actually had a contest this time around, took more than two-thirds of the early and mail-in ballots and got pretty much the same on Election Day.
All told, with 24 of the 26 precincts reported at press time, Giallombardo got 64,708 votes (68.96 percent), while his Democratic opponent, Denise McCleary, got 29,126 votes (31.47 percent).
In 2022, Giallombardo won his seat without appearing on the ballot.
Giallombardo could not immediately be reached for comment.
