FHP: Cape Coral man involved in deadly wrong-way crash on I-75
An 86-year-old man who was going the wrong way on I-75, drove his sport utility vehicle into oncoming traffic and collided with the front of a sport utility vehicle going north on I-75 leading to the death of a 56-year-old Bradenton woman, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred in the area of the Lucket Road Overpass and Exit 139 near Fort Myers at about 8:56 p.m. Sunday night.
The two vehicles collided head-on and left the Bradenton woman with critical injuries. She was transported to an area hospital and later pronounced deceased.
The Cape Coral man sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
The crash remains under investigation, FHP said.
