Cape man arrested for selling drugs within 1000 feet of school
The Cape Coral Police Department’s Narcotics Unit launched an investigation into the sale of methamphetamines by Walter Stephen Barrick.
The investigation led to probable cause for the arrest of Barrick. A search warrant for his residence, located at 3731 Pelican Boulevard in Cape Coral, was approved. The search warrant was based on a two-month investigation, which included two prior sales of controlled substance (methamphetamine) charges within 1000 feet of a school.
On Sept. 5, the Cape Coral Police Department’s SWAT team assisted with the execution of a search warrant on Barrick’s residence. Barrick was located and arrested on the above-mentioned charges and subsequently charged with additional narcotics offenses stemming from the search warrant.
Walter Barrick was taken to the Lee County Jail and charged with the following:
–2 counts in violation of F.S.S. 893.13(1c1), Sale of a Controlled Substance within 1000 feet of a school, to wit: methamphetamine
–2 counts in violation of F.S.S. 893.13(6a), Possession of a Controlled Substance, to wit: methamphetamine
