Cape Coral police are investigating a Tuesday night shooting that resulted in a death.

CCPD officials confirmed that one person has died during an incident that took place on Northwest 25th Place.

“This is an isolated incident, and the shooter is not at large,” CCPD officials stated via social media. “There is no danger to the public.”

CCPD’s Public Affairs Office on Wednesday afternoon sent an email that stated in part: “Our detectives have been working around the clock to piece together the details of the investigation, but because next of kin has yet to be notified, we cannot release any further details at this time.”

Police stated they hope to release additional information on Thursday.
