Bulk, household chemical waste collection event set for Aug. 5
The city of Cape Coral will partner with the Lee County Solid Waste Division to collect bulk items and household chemical waste from 7 – 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5, in the City Hall parking lot.
This quarterly event is another way for residents to dispose of bulk and household chemical waste safely and responsibly. Residents should use the main entrance to City Hall on Cultural Park Boulevard to drop off items. Materials will be collected from vehicle trunks and truck beds.
Proof of residency may be required to drop off items. Photo IDs with a Cape Coral address and utility bills from an active Cape Coral account are acceptable items to prove your residency.
Items accepted at the event include:
Drain cleaners and pool chemicals
Pesticides/herbicides
Liquid paint and thinners
Furniture and mattresses
Rugs or carpet
Fluorescent tubes
Electronics
Car and boat batteries
Automotive oil
Gas propane tanks
Bulky waste is any debris that weighs more than 50 pounds or is of such bulk that it cannot fit into the cart, can, or refuse bag, excluding white goods (ex: refrigerators, washing machines, etc.). Yard waste will not be accepted.
This is a residential program; commercial building materials will not be accepted.
City Hall is at 1015 Cultural Park Boulevard.
