Cape Coral City Council will bid farewell to two members on Wednesday during its regular meeting at 4:30 p.m. at City Hall.

But first, the outgoing council has some final business to address.

At 3 p.m., council will hold a special meeting in Conference Room 200A at city hall for the annual evaluation of City Manager Rob Hernandez, who will present his annual report to council.

Hernandez’s 25-page report outlines happenings in Fiscal Year 2022, its challenges and how they were addressed, as well as a look ahead to 2023 and beyond.

Council then will decide his evaluation grade and a possible pay increase.

After that meeting, which is open to the public but will not be televised, the regular meeting will take place in council chambers.

There are two consent items and one public hearing on the agenda.

Council will consider the fourth and final Fiscal Year 2022 budget amendment, which will increase the budget by $26,529,603, for a total of just more $1 billion, an increase of 2.67 percent from budget amendment No. 3.

The creation of two position classifications, permit technician and permit specialist in the Development Services department, are on the consent agenda.

The two outgoing council members, Jennifer Nelson and Gloria Tate, will receive plaques for their time of service.

There also will be a proposal in new business calling for a special meeting on Friday at 4 p.m. so those who won the 2022 general election can take their oaths of office.

Mayor John Gunter, and new council members William Steinke and Patty Cummings, along with returning Councilmember Keith Long, will be sworn into office.

The certified 2022 general election results are expected to be available on Friday, Nov. 18, upon completion of the Canvassing Board meeting scheduled for noon.

Should a manual recount be determined at the canvassing board meeting, a delay will occur.

The meeting is expected to be more ceremonial than anything else. Council will likely discuss assignments to be liaisons to boards and committees.

City Hall is at 1015 Cultural Park Blvd.
