Cape man sentenced to prison for child molestation

Ethan Mitchell Sewell, 20, of Cape Coral, has been adjudicated guilty and sentenced to 12 years in prison for lewd or lascivious molestation, according to a release from the office of State Attorney Amira Fox.
Sewell was sentenced to 15 years of sex offender probation for a second count of lewd or lascivious molestation. He was also designated a sexual predator.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the defendant after a child told a family member about past sexual abuse. The investigation led to the arrest of Sewell.
Assistant State Attorney Christine Cummins prosecuted the case.
