Foundation for Lee County Public Schools 31st Annual Partners in Education/State of Our Schools Breakfast Friday
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is hosting its 31st Annual Partners in Education/State of Our Schools Breakfast at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre Friday, May 27, from 7-9 a.m.
This annual gathering of business, community and education leaders serves two purposes. Engaging the business community and the community at large with the School District of Lee County is vital to the success of our students and educators. This breakfast honors and recognizes this fact. Business Partner of the Year, Community Partner of the Year and Volunteer of the Year will all be recognized.
The second purpose of this annual event is to give the superintendent the opportunity to highlight achievements of the district and the vision of the district going forward. Dr. Christopher Bernier, the district’s new superintendent, will have his first opportunity to present the State of Our Schools address.
Programs and initiatives of the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools are also highlighted and presented by Foundation Board Members.
The theme of this year’s Breakfast is “Champions for Education.” This celebratory approach to honoring and informing the business community is always warmly received.
This year’s honorees are:
Business Partner of the Year – Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats
Community Partner of the Year – Cypress Lake United Methodist Church
Volunteer of the Year – Charles Cantieny
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools was formed 36 years ago by a group of business, community and education leaders who understood that the cornerstone of an economically strong community was a quality public education system. “This gathering of business and community leaders demonstrates that this community continues to understand the importance of business and community engagement with our students and educators.”
