Lee Health to allow visits to patients with COVID-19

By NATHAN MAYBERG - | Feb 22, 2022

With the number of hospitalizations for COVID-19 continuing to fall at its hospitals, Lee Health announced that it will allow the visiting of patients who are positive with COVID-19.

There were 112 patients with the coronavirus isolated at Lee Health hospitals on Monday morning, down from 169 and down from 301 COVID-19 patients last month.

Of the 112 patients with the coronavirus, four were at the Golisano Children’s Hospital of South-west Florida.

“With the new tools and approaches we have for managing and tracking transmission of the virus, this change now allows us to enable friends and family to assist with the healing of our COVID positive patients,” Lee Health spokesperson Jonathon Little said in an email.

“For the safety of visitors, patients and staff, and to make this change possible, masks must be worn at all times when in a Lee Health facility. Visitation of COVID patients is limited to the patient’s room and they may only have one visitor at a time.
