Korean War Veterans Chapter 155 Southwest Florida President Bob Kent recently presented a check for $1,000 to Heather Chester, the director of development for the Florida SouthWestern State College Foundation.

Chapter 155 has an endowment scholarship with FSW that started in 2008 and currently stands at $40,000. The scholarship is awarded to a veteran or a child or grandchild of a veteran.

The success of the scholarship has been through many fundraisers and the generosity of members of Chapter 155. For the past four years the chapter has also provided $500 scholarships to Cape Coral Technical College and Fort Myers Technical College.

Chapter 155 meets the first Tuesday of the month at 11 a.m. at the Brotherhood of Heroes Resource Center & Museum, 4522 Del Prado Blvd., S., in Cape Coral. All Korean War veterans and those who have served in Korea are welcome. For more about the chapter, contact Kent at 239-945-3018.
