A late morning call reporting shots fired in the north Cape generated a large police response and ended with no one injured and two in custody Tuesday.

Cape Coral police arrested two teens, Elisha Jerome Williams, 17, of Lehigh Acres, and Dorian Cherrod Goode, 17, of Fort Myers, in connection with the incident in the 2800 block of Northwest 4th Avenue. Each was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, a third degree felony.

The arrests came after officers responding to the 11:45 a.m. call first set up a perimeter to contain the scene and detained all parties believed to be involved.

“It was determined no one had been injured, and Major Crimes detectives arrived to investigate the incident,” a release from the Cape Coral Police Department issued Tuesday evening states.

The investigation determined probable cause for two the juveniles, Williams and Goode, to be arrested on the aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge against two victims who had been sitting in a vehicle in the driveway, the release states.

“Goode was alleged to have pointed a firearm at the two victims and then fled on foot, with the victim deciding to follow Goode and call police,” police said. “Goode retreated back into the residence as the victim parked in front of the home. Williams then exited the home and fired rounds at the victim’s vehicle, causing the victim to flee the scene for their safety.”

Both youths were transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
