By CJ HADDAD - | May 3, 2021

A Cape Coral man died as the result of a motorcycle-car collision Sunday afternoon.

The Cape Coral Police Department reported that Blaine Elmer, 64, of Cape Coral suffered fatal injuries after a car ran a red light at the intersection of Skyline Boulevard and Trafalgar Parkway, causing an impact that resulted in him being ejected from his motorcycle.

Police said Nicole Nesbitt of Cape Coral was traveling southbound of Skyline Boulevard and failed to stop at a red light. The crash, captured by a dashboard camera, sent Elmer off of his bike after he struck the driver-side door of Nesbitt’s SUV.

Off-duty paramedics happened to be at the intersection at the time of the crash and began to provide first aid to Elmer. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

CCPD said alcohol or drugs are not a factor in the incident, nor is speed.

Officials ask any witnesses or those with information about the crash to contact CCPD at 239-574-3223 or by submitting an anonymous tip at capecops.com.

Information can also be provided to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
