Red Ribbon Award nominees announced
The Lee County Coalition for a Drug-Free Southwest Florida has announced its Red Ribbon Award nominees.
The awards will be made via virtual presentations the week of April 19.
Nominees are:
AL OERTER AWARD FOR ACADEMIC AND ATHLETIC EXCELLENCE
The Al Oerter Award for Academic and Athletic Excellence will honor an athlete in an individual sport who demonstrates a commitment to academic and athletic excellence, community service, and a drug-free lifestyle. The award will be presented by Cathy Oerter on April 19 and 20.

LEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SERVICE TO OUR NATION AWARD
The Lee County Sheriff’s Service to our Nation Award honors an Explorer or JROTC member who demonstrates exceptional leadership, academics, community service and a drug-free lifestyle. It will be presented on April 21 by Lt. Alan Canfield and Staff Officer Michelle Sargis.

The Jim Nathan Leadership Award will be presented on April 22, and was created to honor the founder of the Coalition, Jim Nathan. Mr. Nathan’s vision for a drug-free community continues to inspire our work and our mission. This award will be presented by Jim Nathan.
