Cape Coral police are investigating a shooting that left one person injured Tuesday night.

Officers responded to the incident in the 900 block of Southeast 16th Place after receiving a call at around 10 p.m.

“Officers arrived quickly and found one subject in the residence had been shot,” a release issued by the Cape Coral Police Department this morning states. “The subject received medical attention and was transported to a local hospital.”

Major Crimes Detectives and Forensic Specialists arrived and assumed the investigation.

No other details are immediately available.

“This is an active and ongoing investigation. Once information has been found to be accurate and reliable, we will send out an update,” the release states.
