Post 90 Legionnaires earn training credentials
Commander Nick Napolitano of American Legion Post 90 in Cape Coral recently announced that the four members of the Post’s Marketing Committee had earned the National American Legion’s academic Training certificate. The members are Ted Clark, Jeff Zambrana, Amy O’Neill, and Bill McKernan. The training is divided into six sections, followed by a final exam, and includes subjects in History and Organization, Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism, and Children and Youth. This is the American Legion’s official training program for officers, members, and Legion College applicants. Legionnaires who receive these credentials have the knowledge to assist veterans, better recruit prospective members, and serve the community outside the Legion.
American Legion Post 90 was founded in April 2001 and offers a full canteen and food service at its location on Southeast 47th Street in Cape Coral. Post 90 sponsors scholarships, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, youth baseball, blood drives, VA volunteer and national emergency funds programs to assist veterans in need. The Legion works every day on behalf of all U.S. servicemen and women. For more than 100 years, the National American Legion has acted as the nation’s leading advocate for US military veterans’ benefits, and is recognized as a leader in transition assistance from the military to civilian life, providing resources for careers, education opportunities, and childcare.
