Time changes for outdoor yoga classes at Cape Animal Shelter
The Cape Coral Animal Shelter is pleased to announce Yoga at the Shelter has successfully run classes since late December.
“The community has supported the event and we are happy this is helping us with our mission and participants with their overall health. As the weather begins to warm, classes will be held earlier on Wednesday beginning in March. CCAS staff will continue to be available to answer questions and provide tours afterward for those have not seen the facility,” stated Liz McCauley, executive director.
Both Wednesday and Saturday morning classes will be held from 9-10 a.m. Each week classes have a new theme. Upcoming themes will focus on opening the heart, balance, looking within and self-acceptance. Whether you are a beginner or experienced yoga enthusiast, what feels right for you is most important at each class. The benefits of a yoga practice can improve strength, balance, flexibility as well as help with stress, relaxation, and sleep.
Class instructor, Robin Anne Griffiths will lead each class on Wednesday and Saturday 9-10 a.m. The cost is $10 per person, per class and Shelter volunteers $8. The shelter will receive 50% of all proceeds. Attendees are advised to bring their yoga mat, a large towel or sheet for ground cover, water and as an option yoga blocks and strap if desired. Prior sign-up is not required but early arrival is advised for paperwork and set up.
