Man charged with second degree murder in 2020 death of Cape woman
A Cape Coral man has been charged with second degree murder in the death of a woman whose injuries were determined to be a homicide last October.
Detectives with the Cape Coral Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit the brought the charge against Michael Louis Tortolani, 26, on Tuesday.
The investigation began Oct. 3 after the Cape Coral patrol officers responded to a death investigation in the 4800 block of Triton Court East. The deceased female’s injuries were determined to be the result of a homicide. The CCPD Major Crimes Unit detective and a forensic specialist responded and assumed the investigation which subsequently also included the State Attorney’s Office and the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Tortolani was charged while already incarcerated at the Lee County Jail, where he has been since October on other various charges.
