Schools to reopen on Tuesday; hurricane makeup day Wednesday

Lee County Schools will be reopen Tuesday with classes also set for Wednesday, Veterans Day.

The School District of Lee County sent the following email to all district families:

“The School District of Lee County continues to monitor Tropical Storm Eta. The most recent reports by the National Hurricane Center (NHC) state that all tropical storm warnings for southwest Florida have been cancelled.

“Therefore, the District will reopen schools and offices on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. To ensure instructional continuity, schools will also be open on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, as that date is scheduled as a Hurricane Make-up Day on the instructional calendar. **School schedules will operate on an Odd-Period schedule on Tuesday, November 10 and on an Even-Period schedule on Wednesday, November 11.**

“The District will continue to monitor Eta. Should the weather pattern shift to where it again threatens the safety of our students and staff, we will provide you with another update.”
