Jessica Cosden announces candidacy for re-election to Cape Coral City Council

Lifelong Cape Coral resident Jessica Cosden has formally announced her candidacy for re-election to the Cape Coral City Council.
In addition to serving as Mayor Pro Tempore and Council Office Manager, Cosden sits on several local and regional boards and committees with a focus on transportation planning and environmental issues.
“My work is not done,” Cosden said in her announcement statement released Monday. “Now more than ever, Cape Coral needs proven, unwavering leadership as we navigate through these unprecedented times.”
Cosden earned a Bachelor of Arts from the Wilkes Honors College of Florida Atlantic University. She is currently completing her Master of Public Administration. She works in nonprofit administration.
Elected to the City Council representing District 7 in 2015, Cosden’s issues have included increased funding for sidewalks and streetlights,water quality, and economic development and recovery.
She describes herself as a vocal advocate for families with special needs children.
She is a mother of three — Hannah, 9; Jacob, 8; and baby Emmet. Her husband, Dan, is an Army combat veteran.
Her passion is music; she plays keys for local band Exploding Pages.
