Mayor Joe Coviello

The public is invited to join members and guests of the Cape Coral Social Club to hear Mayor Joe Coviello speak about the future of the Cape.

This event will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, at the Cape Coral Yacht Club at 5819 Driftwood Parkway, 33904. In lieu of a formal presentation, the Mayor will take questions from the audience beginning at 10 a.m. This is your chance to ask your questions of our top elected official!

Elected last November, this is Mr. Coviello’s first elected office, but he has been active in many community organizations, including Hope Hospice, the Human Trafficking Coalition, and Learning for Life. He has also served as past president of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Florida Parents Association.

He and his family have lived in Cape Coral since 2000. He spent four years as a Pop Warner Football Coach, Athletic Director and Board Member, and then four years as a football coach at Cape Coral High School.

He also served as the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Admission Field Representative for SWFL, and the Service Academy Liaison to Congressman Francis Rooney and Connie Mack Jr., for 10 years.

When not working at his mayoral duties, Mayor Coviello works as a business consultant specializing in employee benefits, payroll processing, human resources, and business insurance.

He and his wife, Diane, have been married for 35 years and have two adult sons. Both graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and both currently serve as officers in the United States Navy.

The Cape Coral Social Club is a member-driven community organization providing opportunities to engage in a variety of interesting activities and make new friends in a warm and congenial atmosphere.

Monthly meetings are held at the Yacht Club on the second Thursday of each month while our catered Dinner Dances take place on the 3rd Saturday.

This month, on July 21, the Cape Coral Historical Society will collaborate with us by furnishing old-time photos for our dinner dance, “Celebrating the Captivating Cape.”
