Traffic signal repair under way
A transformer at the intersection of Santa Barbara Boulevard and Nicholas Parkway blew early Friday evening, resulting in a fire that damaged the traffic signal at the intersection.
LCEC fixed the transformer, however the traffic signal is going to take about 16-18 hours to bring back online.
The intersection at Santa Barbara and Nicholas is currently closed to traffic as repair crews fix the traffic signal. Police will be detouring traffic away from the intersection about one block away in all directions.
Temporary portable stop signs have been placed at the intersection in all directions. Police officers are in the vicinity as well.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the intersection. The signal should be operational sometime today.
