Work will close Heddon Canal in Cape
SPECIAL TO THE BREEZE, news@breezenewspapers.com
On Sept. 8, the city of Cape Coral will begin the removal of the water control structure and boat lift located at the Unit 89/Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve.
The work will require the closure of the Heddon Canal and will temporarily block any access in or out of the entire Unit 89 canal system.
Unit 89 is located directly north of Veterans Memorial Parkway, east of Del Prado Boulevard. More specifically, the unit is bounded by Southeast 17th Place and is just south of Four Mile Cove Parkway.
The demolition project will require closure of the waterway for a minimum of 14 calendar days. The waterway should reopen with no obstructions by Sept. 22.
