BRADENTON (AP) – Twin 15-year-olds were found guilty of assault charges stemming from a Christmas night attack on a U.S. Marine and his wife outside a Bradenton movie theater.

Circuit Judge Edward Nicholas said Thursday he will review the brothers’ background before deciding on a penalty in March.

The incident began during a showing of “Little Fockers.” Federico Freire, home on leave from Afghanistan, and his wife, testified they asked the group of unruly teens to be quiet.

One teen was found guilty of two counts of assault and battery for punching Kalyn Freire in the jaw, knocking her unconscious, and for hitting her husband. His brother was charged with one count of assault and battery for punching the Marine.

An assistant state attorney called the scene at the theater “chaos.”
