ST. PETERSBURG (AP) – A 64-year-old St. Petersburg man faces second-degree murder charges after calling 911 to report that he had just stabbed his landlord in the chest.

St. Petersburg police said Kenneth Hall told them stabbed 74-year-old Jack Blanchard Wednesday morning because he thought the man had taken money from him. Hall said he paid Blanchard to stay at the home.

Blanchard’s daughter found her father’s body while Hall was still at the scene. Police say Hall then called 911 to report the incident. Police did not release the name of Blanchard’s daughter.

Police believe two knives were used in the attack. Blanchard was cut on the chest and face.
