Ex-Fort Lauderdale CEO arraigned on fraud charges
MIAMI (AP) – The former CEO of Fort Lauderdale-based GlobeTel Communications Corp. has pleaded not guilty to charges he participated in a $20 million scheme to fraudulently inflate the company’s revenue between 2002 and 2004.
Timothy J. Huff was named last month in a 16-count indictment charging him with conspiracy to commit securities fraud, falsifying financial reports, wire fraud and lying to the company’s outside auditor.
He was arraigned Wednesday. Huff’s attorney, David Oscar Markus, says his client is going to fight the charges.
No trial date has been set on the criminal charges against Huff.
Last month, the Securities and Exchange Commission filed a civil action against Huff.
